The gleaming black piano with its ivory keys
The stretched membrane on a drum
And the twinkling sound of the harp
Floating on the breeze
Carried by soft lips and aged throats
A welcome shelter
A rush of strength and hope
Raising and reviving, guiding and inspiring,
Playing with emotion and dancing in the mind
Raising curtains that have been closed for a long time
Both harsh and beautiful
Simple and amazingly complex
Music is everywhere
From the scraping of chairs to applause in the symphony halls
Resounding forever
A continuous strand of melody in this ever changing world.
