Paraplegic Outside, Passionate Inside

I’m paraplegic
I can’t run, jump, hop or skip
But I can still have fun.

I can still feel and see
The sun’s glow
Blazing through the clouds.

To most people
I am the girl in the chair
Doomed to be forever there.

In my imagination
I can dance, act, run and jump.
Now I am the one who stays and listens and watches.

I don’t want people to feel sorry for me,
I am strong on the inside
I have a burning, fiery passion, waiting to come out.
