Waterfall

Bard was all alone and the rain started to pour.
Sobbing as his mother died the day before.
His tears touched the ground
But they didn’t make a sound
He loved the silence but felt alone and didn’t want to be there anymore.

He crouched under a tree and the rain started to ease.
His ripped up pants, creating sores on the caps of his knees.
He captured his thoughts
And sadness that brought
Back some of his worst memories.

The sun was brighter than ever and a rainbow developed in the sky.
Even in the lovely day, Bard couldn’t keep his head high.
He looked over the waterfall and kissed the sun goodbye
As he knew, to see his mother
He would have to die.
