You’re the butterfly in spring
So fragile and fleeting.
My escape and retreat
A pattern repeating.
The warm summer showers.
A rare brief respite.
When I'm scared and downtrodden
You’re my white knight.
When the rain comes down heavy
And I can’t see my path.
When I'm lost, far from home
You are my hearth.
It’s autumn, I'm falling
I just can’t hold on.
You make me stay,
Wait through to the dawn.
In the storm I can’t handle
Pushed around like a leaf.
You’re the eye of my hurricane
Temporary relief.
