Just The Wind

The rain was falling ever so hard,
the dogs barking, howling.
The storm was roaring ever so loud,
the clock ticking, tocking.
I heard a noise the sound of whistling,
something falling, searing.
I heard a loud rush approaching,
like a wave, rolling.
I sat upright in my bed,
my mind spinning, overflowing.
Looking out the window anxiously,
my stomach fluttering, churning.
I realised it was just the wind,
whirling, gushing.
