When I came here it was as hot as the desert
People greeted you with good ‘aye
Fair dinkum they would also say
The taxi fares were so expensive

Everyone in boardies and at the beach
Mates in the outback
Barbies and VB out
Celebrating all through the night

Kangaroos jumping
Koalas lazing
Kookaburras laughing
Crocodiles snapping

Here in Australia they call football, soccer
They play cricket on the beach
And swim all day long
I’ve never been as confused before
