2014
Finalist in the 'The Text Generation 2014' competition
Their blushing reds, their deep blood oranges,
The languid sun in a feather boa
Of peaches, of salmons, of gold-rimmed clouds;
The refuge of the cool, fresh wind,
A slinking snake that wraps around me,
Enfolding my lungs and leaching ice;
But sweet ice to melt by radiating warmth,
Of the fading evening hues:
The weathered indigos in their plumes of eager mercury,
As the navy crowns the languid sun, its drooping head,
And sparks to life the lurking panther's semblance,
The promise of to-be, the bittersweet parting of today;
With luck, to witness one more before one last.
Heart yearns, mind wanders and soul plunders through realms,
Through years of old, of gold, ones sold, ones unseen;
Then stand in the bead of the last sunbeam.
