A Friend

The rose shone in the shadows
Far away in the meadows
These meadows are far
Far away from here
I know the way there
But I am the only one
This rose is in my head
Safe and secure

I here people knocking on the door
Knock, knock
The sound echoes through my body
Like a drum

The rose and I are close
Too close
Then the rose started to die
Slowly fade away
Petal by petal
I started to loose hope
Day by day

When that day came
I thought my life was over
My only friend, my best friend was gone
But then
Something clicked
I didn't need that one rose
I realised there was other roses in disguise
