Girls are read fairy-tales believing
their saviour will rush to their doorstep
and sweep them off their feet.
Anticipation awaits those eyes
that will sparkle like diamonds
and that utterly flawless smile
that will melt her heart like butter.
He will become the sunshine to her day
and the reason the world finally
starts to makes sense.
Deception creeps into those girls
who don’t doubt the existence of prince charming.
Delusion devours those girls
that rely on being saved.
What these girls don’t learn is
YOU have to become the change that
YOU want to see.
Because the world isn’t perfect… and neither is he.
