If stars could think
What would those upstarts see
When they turn their far-off lights on our
Lucidly human problems?
As many flecks of dust in the galaxy.
Perhaps they are too far,
Stuck in the time warp of light
Seeing only a dead world,
Or one rules by reptilian mountains.
Perhaps I should ask my questions of the satellites
And pin my hopes on their programmed paths
