Here I was at the battle of Kursk.
In a panzer 4, looking out the hatch
Than I aimed the barrel at the rear.
Than the crew fired at my command an glanced the rear.
When the turret turned I saw it was a kv-2.
When I saw the smoke I knew we were done.
Than when we got hit it seemed like time froze.
When we got flung in the air the scene was a horrid sight.
Than we got by flack when we were in mid flight.
After we got to 100 f I feel out of the hatch.
So did my gunner and loader too.
When we hit the ground I was the only injured one.
Because we landed in a river all I had was a bruised leg.
Than in half an hour i got caught.
And got thrown in the back of the truck.
Than I got sent to a gulag in 1942.
But my crew were luckier and all got away
I only hope is that I get let out and get to see my wife
Again before I die because I am 95.
