Excellence Award in the 'The Write Track 2015' competition
She sits alone both cold and wet
On the stone-hard sidewalk where she is set
She is as close to death as the living can get
But she shall not give in just yet
Down her cheek slides a single tear
Her body shakes, she's full of fear
Just when she thinks that death is near
The answer to her woes is clear
To Jesus she must turn her face
And in him find unending grace
He will fill her empty space
And cover her in silk and lace
Their fingers then do intertwine
The Lord then delivers a glorious line
'My child, you will be just fine,
For I am yours and you are mine'
