Excellence Award in the 'The Write Track 2015' competition
Glass shatters,
Into infinite shards of transparency,
Splattered with freshly drawn blood,
From my loved ones.
I am destroyed,
Like an worthless, insignificant object,
Fragments of my precious heart,
Splinter the barren earth.
I hang limp from life's chains,
As hope becomes no more.
The sun downs in surrender,
As the darkness overcomes the light...
Time will heal,
But time takes time,
And I can't wait that long...
