Going Into The Gallipoli War

I thought this day will never come
The day I leave my home
The move from life so safe
Watching my mother cry soon alone
Sailing to southern Egypt
Training to kill and fight
For what might be the end of my life
So that's why I write

Finally at Turkey
Watching the war go by
Watching familiar faces slowly close there eyes
For all the things we learn't at camp
Could never train us to be the champs
We never stood a chance
I stood there at the bottom of the cliff
Hearing only pain from the ANZACS who become myths
So remember all the people that died
On the Gallipoli ride
