I am a free girl with mental wings
I wonder where I can find happiness in this world
I hear the pitter-patter of my tears
I see hope in the streams of light
I want a golden heart full of good things
I am a free girl with mental wings

I pretend laughter can fix my shattered thoughts
I feel a warm hand leading me along
I touch warmness that climbs through my veins
I worry about the peoples love for one another
I cry when sadness seeps through the cracks in my heart
I am a free girl with mental wings

I understand the hurt of the world
I say never let a waterfall of tears close your heart
I dream of soaring amongst the stars
I try to keep on a smile that reaches form ear to ear
I hope one day that smile will come naturally
