Tree, tree, sitting in the desert,
Bare branches offering no respite.
How lonely it must be,
To stand where you are.
I cannot imagine
Life without friendship, love or passion,
How can you stand it?
How it must sadden you,
To have no one to help or comfort you out here
Sitting in the desert all alone.
As I come close I feel your sadness.
How have you lived like this?
All these years alone in the desert?
What have you done
To deserve such pain, such loneliness?
Sitting out in the desert.
