I Await You

When darkness arises and light recedes,
Do not wait for me.
When sadness turns to laughter,
Do not wait for me.
When time passes and all else ages,
Do not wait for me.
When the final song is sung and the last wind blows,
Do not wait for me.
For I no longer live where there is day and night.
For I no longer have a face to smile.
For time no longer grants me age.
For I no longer hear the birds
And for I no longer feel the breeze.
So do not wait for me; for it is I that waits for you.
