I stumbled blindly towards the sun bathed beach,
I stretched for comfort but, alas, could not reach.
Tears were streaming from my eyes,
His death had come as a surprise.
My love for him had been extremely great,
What had he done to deserve this fate?
The children playing on the sand,
Had no idea of what was at hand.
For at the passing of this friend,
It seemed my happiness had met its end.
But although my heart felt truly torn,
I could not deny it, Hermie the crab was gone.
2 years later, I have a new pet,
But my poor broken heart had not fixed itself yet.
My thoughts drift to Hermie, it’s never gonna end,
Rest in peace, Hermie, my dear deceased friend.
