“Everything will be ok” they say
But I know that it’s not in every way
I see the pain in her eyes
The pain she just can’t disguise
She fakes a smile so we won’t know
The debilitating effect of her sorrow
She’s breathing, but she is dead
From the days of tears she has shed
Although it may seem hard right now
It will get better someday, somehow
Already there is a glimpse of light
Pushing away the darkness of night
Hope will bring joy, hope will bring peace
Hope will bring happiness with great release
She is taking steps, one at a time
And now her heart is beginning to shine
