Let Me Be Free

I want to leave.
I’m scared.
A voice says inside of me “there is no escape”.
The huge world outside is so near,
Yet this paper-thin fence separates me from it.
I’m so terrified.
I wish that someone could understand me.
I am so terrified.
People, they throw food, thinking it will make me content.
The only thing that will bring me thrill is freedom.
To roam the free rainforest,
filled with wild monkeys that do as they please.
I’m so fearful.

Let me free.
