No matter what the weather or the tide,
The heaving of the ergos you will hear,
The ragged swollen breaths that hurt the ear,
Within “the sheds” the mystery resides,
Forever late to class with ties undone,
The dregs of protein shakers in their hands,
Their weekends gone no time to make their plans,
In time spent for the school second to none,
Yet on that fateful day upon the lake,
Hard work’s reward bestowed upon the oar,
Going so hard the best of Grammar break,
Through waves that crash like mountains on the shore,
In hard work’s painful joy they eat their cake,
The blissful feeling of giving your all.
