The Enternal Night

The night wraps her in its everlasting darkness
She is alone
The whispering wind caresses her hair
Quivering trees emit a sorrowful moan
The night is damp with her tears
Tears that have no meaning
They surge down her ashen cheeks
Etching streams and rivulets as thy cascade
Shards of the first light flicker on the imposing cliffs bringing a sense of hope she cannot evade
The eternal night that had cast her under its gloomy spell fades
Leaving behind a sky brought to life by pink and orange hues
The rising sun dries up her tears
And somehow erases her fears
