2015
It hit me in a searing, fiery burst,
Raging through my tensed muscles.
The moment of impact amplified the pain to it's worst,
Jarring, brutal and excruciatingly tormenting.
My eyes misted over with uncried tears,
Whilst my heartbeat accelerated to an alarming rate.
Cries of agony echoed in my ears,
While my sallow, clammy skin shone with sweat.
My breaths came in deep, shallow rasps,
As my dilated pupils swallowed my vision.
My panting and wheezing turned to desperate gasps,
As I crumpled into a pile of defeat.
Black mist swirled at the edges of my mind,
Erasing what resistance and what pain remained.
The insufficient energy that i did find,
Did nothing to prevent me drawing into sweet oblivion.
