We are the empty cracks in the sidewalk,
Elevators shut down for repair,
Stars not drawn into the constellation,
Books filled with rips and tears.

We are the lights that burned out too quickly,
The broken parts that people set aside,
Smashed windows patched up with wood and nails,
We are the flaws that others want to hide.
