Jumping Off

I never imagined it to end how it did,
I stood on the top of Mt Sorrico
The wind billowed in my hair
Knotting and platting the leaves in the trees
I shut my eyes and saw my family
Laughing and smiling at me
I felt as free as a bird
Yet as caged as a zoo animal
I looked over the cliff edge and a sea of green met my eyes.
Now,
I closed my eyes and jumped
I fell ready to feel the pain of my actions
Ready to hear the snap of broken limbs
The harness caught me and I flew.
