Ivory keys and violin, a cloak of overwhelming sadness
Melancholy key of D minor; Time, 3, 4,
Families dragged from their homes
Play slower; with tender expression,
A woman weeping tears of horror for the ordure splattered upon her skirt,
Octave leaps, surging forward on runs of quavers,
A nation herded like animals
Counter melody; poco movement,
An old man wailing for the death of his son
Change of key,
Gunshots echo between tall buildings
Tempo one repeated; raise an octave, appassionato,
A child wanders the street in a crimson coat,
Mindless execution, warm blood seeps into wet, grey snow
Octave leap again into haunting, artificial harmonics,
Ebb away in ritardando; play dolce... an entire race on the brink of extinction.
