Giving Up

You left me here, all alone,
Made me feel such emptiness, and so damn cold,
I never thought I could feel like this,
But it's ok, I'm over this,
And I'll be fine, you just wait and see,
So I'll put on a smile, and take a breath,
But it's all ok because in the end,
I was there just wanting you,
But you didn't seem to care.
So here we are a mile away,
Thoughts of love surrounding my very existence
The wish that we could have made this work
Brings a lonely tear to my cold-hearted bitterness.
So goodbye my friend, I'll love you no more,
I've given up,
I've given in.
