Swaying in the wind is thy,
leaving no bad, but delivering good,
with a dark trunk of beauty, branches of elegance, and leaves of glory.
Children come, climb, leave,
but it does not bother thy,
for thy is kind, and will only live for kindness and courage.
But then the foe has come,
they spray your amazing trunk with vandalism,
and they speak of your death,
for the grave enemy you're facing is the humans.
The beautiful sparrows, who once nested in your branch, flee as they learn of the news.
Then comes the axe,
one swing,
two swings,
three swings,
and you, the amazing oak tree, is down.
But your death is not of vain,
for you have, without knowing, saved lives, with your great courage and kindness.
