The expanse of the beach is so void. It welcomes darkness as grey captures the once clean sand. Rocks cover over any rotten parts of the eroded area; completely mysterious in its attire although the sounds of the crashing waves can be heard. The murky waves draw back each second taking any grains of sand left, with them. This is where I like to sit, because unlike the beach whose barren nature leaves you feeling lost, I already am, so it can take nothing from me. The water washes over my legs as I traipse over the ground. My wish to see fishes has become hopeless as I search the length of the chilling shoreline. “Casper?” I hear a shout from behind me, shocked I turn towards the sound. Running towards me is Sarah, a stranger in tow. “Here she is”, when she grabs me I feel her soft skin as she pulls me to her chest. “I didn’t know your cat could run this far” the stranger puffs as he bends over. Maybe I’m not lost after all.
