King Canute

King Canute ruled for years and years
His reign had come to many tears
Many fights and killing much
When the end came

He had reigned for years a score
Robbing and fighting more and more
Deep in thought along the swaying sea shore
Where the end came

Weary now that he is old not young
He had fought and conquered
"Where was a glory like to mine!?" He was sharp tongued
When the end came

As he knelt beyond human clay
Where the earth and sea obey
And the golden crown was ceased that day
When the end came
