Her lullaby was one of noise
Of smashing glass and breaking toys
Of yells and screams and shrieks
While a little peace and quiet is the only thing she seeks
Bitter words, breaking of promises they vowed to keep
Raised voices, slammed doors, all sounds that put her to sleep
Her lullaby was one of noise
Of smashing glass and breaking toys
But now, no screaming, no more violence
Just a never-ending silence
No more arguing or fighting
Just got to put it into writing
Her lullaby was one of noise
Of smashing glass and breaking toys
But that’s not all that got broken
Because inside of that little girl is suffering unspoken.
