Midnight has come,
Branches hang low,
Scared and lost,
Which way to go?

Sounds all around me,
Fighting my fears,
Flashes of movement,
Holding back the tears,

All seems gone,
But then another peep,
It turns out to be Ruby,
She should be asleep,

My faithful dog,
Led me back,
To where I live,
In an old little shack.
