The lighting cuts through the sky, as sharp as a scythe.
The wisps of the waves dance along the shore.
The cackling of the storm echoes through the endless night.
The scent of death, the silence shattering the barrier of sound.
The grains of golden sand glow amber in the moonlight,
Slipping through the cracks in the bow.
The mast falls, the deck exposed to the perilous sea.
It's cracked hull stands one moment more,
Till it is engulfed in the depths of the deep dark marine.
The boat splintered, deserted by its crew.
Caressed by the waters it once ruled.
Defeat.
