The bonnet began to smoke,
I feared my time was almost done,
I imagined I was a burnt crisp,
A feeling I could not outrun
The engine burst into flames,
The instant heat countered my freezing,
Yet I had to get them all away,
At least, while they were breathing
The heavens began to rumble,
First one drop, then another,
The cool liquid put out the scorching flames,
With a final hiss, the blaze was smothered
The passenger door was pried open,
With the metallic Jaws of Life,
I was thankful for the cool breeze,
The fresh air that ended my strife
