Dark thoughts invade as I sit in the corner of the room,
I let out my last desperate cry.
My eyes are filled with despair, my soul filled with gloom,
I don’t know if I have the strength, but I’m going to try.
My mind is racing, my heart pounding like a drum,
It hurts with every beat.
Tears drop to the floor, my fingers go numb,
As I look at the object between my feet.
No one to love me, no one to care,
It’s as if I’m already gone.
I violently shake, as I tug at my hair,
I slowly look up, it’s nearly dawn.
I use the last of my strength to reach down to the ground,
My saviour, not even a metre away.
I prepare to pull the trigger, with the gun that I found,
This is it. This is my day.
