The End Is Spring

Winter; cruel, detached and perverse.
Winter in the land of Al-Quds;
The constant scent of warm blood;
A child waking up from a nightmare, to a nightmare;
Shivering in cold sweat.
Winter in the land of the Promise of Liberty;
Concrete, cold and condescending.
The constant pleas for change,
And a masked illusion of tranquillity.
Winter in the land of La Tour Eiffel;
Distraught, dark and despaired.
Stunned into silence, as people across the world pray
For light to be restored.
Spring; rebirth, compassion and warmth.
The world's inclination to bloom,
And for cynical hearts to welcome change,
For Spring is the desired end.
