Reality is torture
Dreams are so much gentler
You get surrounded by a fake world where everything is okay
Where people aren’t racist and terrorists don’t exist
Where the world is a safer place and there are no bombings
I’m sure you get the gist
But then you jerk back into consciousness
Fragile and longing to go back
To a softer, safer place
Where no one can hurt you
