I shed only light,
That is both strong and exuberant,
It blazes the space with its intensity,
And extinguishes the darkness that surrounds.
I shed only light,
With my intermingling, dancing flames,
That jerk with frenzy, struggle under the breeze,
And tremble with terror-struck anticipation.
I shed only light,
As I succumb to my chilling fate,
As my wax begins to bleed out,
Oozing, trickling, dribbling.
I used to shed only light,
But now I die out, and with parted breaths
I sigh with fear and regret
As the darkness becomes my coffin.
