Finalist in the 'Beyond Words 2015' competition
The trees stand tall under the shining sun,
The birds chirping like raindrops on a tin roof,
Animals frolicking and playing as the day is done,
This is Mother Nature at her finest.
In roll the giant metallic monsters,
Ripping the ancient trees out of the home that is the ground,
Birds die and no longer fly.
Animals lose their homes and lives,
Beautiful lands are stripped of life,
Bang! Crash! More trees dead.
Land cleared for little boxes,
Native species driven out by pets,
Slaughtered in their grave yard of a home.
