Red Bound Galaxy

Tired bruises do not slow her
As her eyes dart from left to right
And right to left across the page
Taking in final words of script

"Now run," it states and her heart takes flight
A pulsing planet beneath her chest
Eyes wonder-wide and dark as void
She blinks back damp stars

Arms clutch her red bound book
Stories of burning lights and hearts aflame
Her own light flickers out
And sleep takes her in non-existent arms
