I wait for inspiration,
For words to fill the page.
Frustration overtakes my thoughts,
And soon it turns to rage.

I decide that I should give up,
And leave this thing behind.
As I walk out, and slam the door,
A thought comes to my mind.

With that thought I sit back down,
And search the corners of my brain.
For something I can write about,
Something to ease my pain.

Why should I wait for inspiration,
When I am the creator?
And as to write, well why not now?
For now is before’s later.
