I walked alone on this night of despair
The fear creeping into me
I knew I was not alone
My heart sank as I knew no one was coming for me,I was not alone
I turned around as if something was there but there was nothing
There was just the blackness;the nothingness
I was not alone
Suddenly I had a thought; What if you were never alone
What about all of those nights when you think you're alone
But you're not
I kept walking;I kept thinking
What if you thought there was nothing there. But there was
In the tiniest sliver of light,In the last bit of hope
I turned around;nothing there.Just nothing
Something grabbed my ankle ,IT grabbed my ankle
Dragged me slowly, slowly. It had got me, it had won
I was not alone
