As I arrive at school
I rush to the dark
To hide from them
I am afraid

At my desk
I sense them watching me
Looking for signs of weakness
I am afraid

Morning tea and lunchtime
I hide in a book
Hoping they won’t see me
I am afraid

I sit in my bed
Alone in the dark
I cry in my sheets
I am afraid
