The Embers All Drown

The moon shone bright,
my only source of light.
Not a cloud in the sky,
as I watched birds fly by.
Feeling weak from this nightmare,
I fell with despair.
Sparking wood against stone,
I was no longer alone.
A spark became mighty,
soon a fire shone brightly.
I watched it with awe,
As my body started to thaw.
Soon a storm became clear,
And I trembled with fear.
I watched the rain fall down,
and the embers all drown.
