One morning the Farrugia family woke up and it had just finished raining. They looked outside, and there big and bright, was a beautiful rainbow.
“There might be treasure at the end of the rainbow?” said Matt.
When they got there, they sat down and had lunch.
“Lets slide down the rainbow!’’ said William.
So William slid down the rainbow and the others followed William down. On the other side they saw buried treasure.
“You were right!” said Amelia.
And so the Farrugia family finally had their gold. While they were walking around exploring, rain started to fall from the sky. It got heavier and heavier until they could not walk any further. They found an old shelter made out of old scrap steel, and they decided to sleep there until the rain had passed over.
By the morning the rain had stopped. They wanted to head straight for home, but they had three barrels of treasure to take home with them and they were too heavy. So the Farrugia family decided to hide the treasure somewhere safe. And every now and then they would go on a special family trip back to where they hid their treasure. They would play treasure hunts and throw the treasure up in their air while they danced around under the falling treasure.
And every time the Farrugia family saw a rainbow, it would remind them about the fun they had with each other that cold and rainy day.
