It will be fun, they said
but I hadn’t agreed
Yet still here I was
my death for sure guaranteed.
It was stupid and reckless,
Two things I am not,
I would rather in bed
than clinging on by a knot.
Humans, I decided,
are meant to stay on the ground,
not a thousand miles high
where the only thing you can hear is your own heart pound.
Watching one after one, leap to their fate
I knew this wasn’t for me
I was paralysed with fear,
Bungee jumping is not my cup of tea.
