Where did you go, oh reason fair?
You vanished in a stormy haze
passion my only beacon
Yet the most unsettling one to blaze
I fell for the mirage
The siren's hypnotic wail
Entranced by smoke and mirrors
And malicious fairy tale
And when foundations crumble down,
And madness seizes troubled souls
Glitters but is not gold...
The weary traveller drowns on shoals
I see life in this death
For this tempest soon shall past
Righteous reason reins again
Free from those fell chains at last
