My alarm clock rings
The sunlight is pounding at the curtains
I look down and there I find
Pieces of glass, bark, and a bit of shoe
Sun pours through a hole in my curtains
I touch the doorknob,it starts to rattle
I hear shouts, feet running on gravel
I burst through the door
I find my sister and parents at the door
Then we run like cheetahs to the car
The crowd came like a swarm of bees
My father starts the car
A spray of glass rushes past
It hits my cheek like a sand storm
I close my eyes, why us?
It’s not my fault I’m different
