You treat us as our life doesn’t matter,
we hear that amongst your derogatory chatter.
All we are is escapees of war!
Why do you always seem to gawk?
We are kept contained like a plague,
between barbed wire fences and heavily locked gates.
We never thought it would happen this way.
All we want is safety, and a place to call home,
We never thought you would leave us this alone!
So why don’t you get off your high horse
and stop treating us with such arrogant force!
Stereotypes are deceiving,
Why don’t you want to see us achieving?
Just give us a chance, just one at least,
and together we can fight racism that is the beast.
