First a clear blue, majestic sea
The pristine gift of nature’s daughter
Then rubbish floating in the current free
A silent disease that darkens the water
One discarded bottle, one plastic bag
Inconsequential. How harmful can it be?
But under summer’s sunny skies
Form an army that kills the wonders of the sea
Hear the mourning song of the Reef:
“Am I worth so little that you won't desist!”
The coral, plants, and sea life graceful
Just a memory if our ignorance and apathy persist
Will we heed the great reef’s cries?
And stop the damage borne of man
Whether it all lives and dies
Its future lies within our hands
